Nuremberg State Theater

The 48th episode of "Theaterlandschaften" takes us to the gingerbread, toy and medieval city of Nuremberg and introduces Bavaria's youngest state theater.
The three-section theater was only appointed a state theater by Bavarian Minister President Edmund Stoiber in September 2003.

Esther Schweins presents the Franconian city of Nuremberg and the theater in its anniversary season, which celebrates the 100th birthday of the opera house.
The opera house celebrates its 100th birthday.
Director Wulf Konold and actress Susanne Bormann, who has appeared in the films "Liegen lernen" and "Nachtgestalten", have their say.
In addition, the Polish theater man Tadeusz Kantor has a special connection with Nuremberg.
He exhibited there for the first time as a painter, object artist and performer in Germany and in the seventies and eighties almost all of Kantor's "Theater of Death" plays were performed in Nuremberg.
Film clips bear witness to his work.
