The theater makers

In-house author

In-house playwrights are not desk slaves who work on their texts in solitude.
On the contrary, they are "very vital and very lively and very tangible in the middle of the theatrical action", says Nis Momme Stockmann, in-house playwright at Schauspiel Frankfurt.
He is one of only a few playwrights who are permanently employed at a theater.

The author's opinion is also sought in the realization of the play.
That is why he regularly attends concept and final rehearsals to find out how the director intends to realize his texts on stage.
Of course, he tries as best he can to incorporate his intentions for the play into the production.

What mood should be conveyed?
How are the characters created?
It's a tough battle that the author and director have to fight among themselves.
As an in-house playwright, you not only have to be creative, but also communicative.
This is the only way Stockmann can actively shape what happens on stage.
