After 15 years of construction, the most modern hospital of the time opened in Aachen: the University Hospital - looking like a UFO.

Gunther Nogge experienced his worst day as director of Cologne Zoo in 1985.
Because a keeper had accidentally left the monkey cage open, the chimpanzee Petermann escaped, attacked Nogge and seriously injured him.
Petermann, an audience favorite and celebrated stage star in the 50s and 60s, was shot while fleeing and became a Cologne legend.
